Hi, I'm Steve Ballantyne. Born and bred in New Zealand.

My art prints celebrate everything that's unique about New Zealand - its colours, beauty and feeling. It's for people who have lived here all their lives, people who have left and still miss it, and visitors who found something here they'll never forget, each piece designed to bring a little of that connection home.

Born in Southland, I then spent my high school years around the sun-drenched shores of East Cape, where two extraordinary art teachers first sparked my love of visual storytelling.

Although life led me into advertising, my love of art, photography and New Zealand never went away. From wild coastlines and quiet lakes to mountains and rugged back country, everything about New Zealand seeps into your soul and becomes deeply personal.

My style is a blend of realistic photography and an imaginative flair of paint and illustration. I then work through a distinctive AI style I’ve designed and honed to perfection to create vivid, memory-rich artworks. Each one is carefully prepared for high-quality print using archival inks, premium Epson Enhanced Matte paper and fine art cotton canvas.
